David Wise writer
David Wise (1954–2020) was a renowned television and animation writer known for his work on popular franchises like *Star Trek: The Animated Series*, *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles*, and *The Transformers*. Born in Los Angeles, California, he developed an early passion for filmmaking and animation, gaining industry recognition through contributions to Saturday morning cartoons such as *The Banana Splits*.
Wise's career included roles as a head writer for series like *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles* (seasons 4-5 and 8-9) and *Batman: The Animated Series*. He also collaborated on projects with his second wife, Audry Taylor, though none were produced posthumously.
In addition to his television work, Wise founded Go! Media Entertainment in 2005, which included publishing imprint Go! Comi and digital entertainment division oPlay. However, the company faced financial challenges leading to bankruptcy.
Wise passed away on March 3, 2020, after a brief battle with lung cancer at age 65. His legacy remains influential in animation and television history.
