Eurotrash TV series

Eurotrash was a 30-minute English-language magazine programme produced by Rapido Television and presented by Antoine de Caunes and Jean-Paul Gaultier. It aired on Channel 4 in the UK and Republic of Ireland from 1993 to 2004, becoming one of the channel's longest-running late-night shows with 16 series (134 episodes) and 11 specials. The programme featured a comical review of unusual and quirky topics primarily from Western and Central Europe, but also worldwide.

The show was conceived in Paris by producer Peter Stuart and had a distinctive low-budget, surreal style despite its high production costs. It included bizarre segments like rabbit show jumping, singing dogs, and nude cleaning services, often accompanied by humorous voiceovers from Maria McErlane and later Kate Robbins, who added quirky British regional accents.

Key features of the programme included recurring elements like Pipi and Popo (cardboard giraffes) and notable guests such as Graham Norton, Carla Bruni, and Shane MacGowan. A spin-off titled "A Song for Eurotrash" was released as an album featuring covers of international hits. The show also aired a special episode in 2016 tied to the EU referendum.

Eurotrash achieved significant popularity, averaging around 2–3 million viewers weekly, making it Channel 4's top entertainment programme during its run. A DVD collection was released in 2022, preserving its unique blend of humour and eccentricity.
