Franco Cervi
Franco Emanuel Cervi, born on 26 May 1994 in Argentina, is a professional footballer who plays as a left winger or left wing-back for La Liga club Celta de Vigo. He began his career in Rosario Central's youth system, making his league debut on 9 November 2014 and scoring his first goal in February 2015. In the Copa Libertadores, he made his debut in February 2016 against Nacional and scored his first international goal in a match against River Plate.
In September 2015, Cervi signed a six-year contract with Benfica, joining them in June 2016. He scored on his debut for Benfica, helping them win 3-0 against Braga and was named best player of the match. That season, he achieved the feat of scoring in all major Portuguese competitions, including the UEFA Champions League. In December 2016, he became the first Benfica player to score across all these competitions in a single season.
Cervi joined Celta de Vigo in July 2021 after leaving Benfica. On the international front, he was part of Argentina's provisional squad for the 2016 Olympics but did not make the final team. He made his debut for Argentina in September 2018 against Guatemala.
Cervi has an Italian passport due to his Italian heritage. During his time at Benfica, he won multiple honours, including two Primeira Liga titles, one Taça de Portugal, and two Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira titles, with individual recognition as the best player in the latter competition in 2016.
