German submarine U-1164

German submarine U-1164 was a Type VIIC/41 U-boat of Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine during World War II. Ordered on 14 October 1941, she was laid down on 11 December 1942 at Danziger Werft AG in Danzig as yard number 136. Launched on 3 July 1943 and commissioned under Kapitänleutnant Fokko Schlömer on 27 October 1943.

U-1164 had a displacement of 769 tonnes when surfaced and 871 tonnes when submerged. She measured 67.10 meters in length, with a beam of 6.20 meters, a height of 9.60 meters, and a draught of 4.74 meters. Powered by two Germaniawerft F46 diesel engines and two SSW GU 343/38-8 electric motors, she could reach a maximum surface speed of 17.7 knots and a submerged speed of 7.6 knots. Her operational range was 80 nautical miles when submerged at 4 knots and 8,500 nautical miles when surfaced at 10 knots.

The submarine was armed with five 53.3 cm torpedo tubes (four bow-mounted, one stern-mounted), fourteen torpedoes or 26 naval mines, an 8.8 cm SK C/35 gun with 220 rounds, a 3.7 cm Flak M42 gun, and two 2 cm C/30 anti-aircraft guns. Her complement ranged from forty-four to fifty-two crew members.

U-1164 was sunk during a British air raid on the Deutsche Werke shipyard in Kiel on 24 July 1944. After being raised, she was decommissioned and later broken up.
