Heroes of Gaia

Heroes of Gaia is a browser-based massively multiplayer online fantasy strategy game developed by Snail Games and published in the United States by Snail Games USA, with gPotato Europe handling its release in Europe. Players select one of four races—Human, Elf, Orc, or Undead—each offering unique starting advantages. Starting with a small castle and a blue-quality Hero, players construct buildings to recruit troops, learn skills, and defend their territory. Five resources (Gold, Lumber, Ore, Sulphur, and Crystal) are needed for building and troop recruitment, naturally generated but supplemented by capturing mines or looting.

Heroes require Action Points (AP), which regenerate at 10% of the maximum per hour. Fame points, earned through gameplay actions, determine player rank and AP increases. Combat is central to gameplay, with Heroes leading troops against NPCs, players, or objects. Players can command battles manually or let AI control them, with limited commands during combat.

Gameplay goals vary: some seek high individual Fame, others aim for powerful armies, guild prominence, or defeating the Babel Tower. Guilds encourage cooperation, leveling up as members gain Fame and competing to control Capital Cities. The Babel Tower challenges players daily, offering experience and equipment upon clearing its 40 levels. Heroes of Gaia received recognition in China with the Jing Ling award for being the best Webgame in 2009.
