Liesbeth Heenk
Liesbeth Heenk, born on May 1, 1962, is an international publisher, author, and art historian specializing in Vincent van Gogh. She holds BA and MA degrees in art history from Leiden University and earned a PhD from the Courtauld Institute of Art for her research on Van Gogh's drawings. Heenk worked as an assistant curator for the 1990 Van Gogh centenary exhibition at the Kröller-Müller Museum and later as a print specialist at Christie's in London, where she discovered Rembrandt's copperplate *Abraham entertaining the Angels*. She also served as Director of Business Development at Sotheby's in Amsterdam, organizing notable single-owner sales. In 2009, she contributed to the Van Gogh exhibition at the Complesso del Vittoriano in Rome while working for the Royal Palace of Amsterdam.
Heenk founded Amsterdam Publishers in 2012, focusing on Holocaust memoirs. Her publications include *Van Gogh's Inner Struggle: Life, Work and Mental Illness*, *The 1-Hour Van Gogh Book*, and *Van Gogh and Money*. She has also written articles for journals like *Apollo* and *The Burlington Magazine* and contributed to exhibition catalogues such as *Seurat, Van Gogh, Mondrian. Il Post-Impressionismo in Europa*. Her work spans academic research, art market analysis, and accessible biographies, reflecting her expertise in both art history and Holocaust studies.
