Lockhart Florida

Lockhart is a census-designated place located in Orange County, Florida, United States. It had a population of 13,060 as recorded in the 2010 census and is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was named after David Lockhart (1864–1923).

Geographically, Lockhart spans an area of 11.8 square kilometers (4.6 square miles), with 11.3 square kilometers (4.4 square miles) classified as land and 0.5 square kilometers (0.2 square miles) as water. The region is characterized by a mix of residential, commercial, and natural landscapes.

Demographically, the area has experienced steady growth over the years. At the 2000 census, the population was 12,944, with a significant percentage under the age of 18 (29.2%). The racial composition included 73.79% White, 16.08% African American, and smaller percentages for other groups. Hispanic or Latino individuals made up 16.09% of the population.
