Pemberton railway station
Pemberton railway station serves the Pemberton area of Wigan in Greater Manchester, England, and is located on the Kirkby branch line from Wigan Wallgate. Opened on 20 November 1848 by the Liverpool and Bury Railway, it is situated on the A571 Billinge Road. Access to the station involves steep ramps from street level, with no disabled access available.
The station features basic shelters, digital display screens, and timetable posters. As of 2020, a self-service ticket machine has been installed on the Wigan-bound platform for debit or credit card payments only. Cash purchases require a Promise to Pay notice, which must be settled with the onboard conductor or at the destination station. Penalty fares apply for invalid tickets or notices.
All services are operated by Northern Trains and run hourly between Headbolt Lane and Blackburn via Wigan Wallgate and Manchester Victoria. The station is not served during late evenings or Sundays. Connections to Merseyrail services can be made by changing trains at Headbolt Lane.
