The Latin University of Costa Rica (ULatina) is the largest private university in the country, serving over 16,000 students across various undergraduate and graduate programs. Established in 1989, it is accredited by the National Council of Higher Education (CONESUP). The university operates two main campuses: one in San Pedro, San José, and another in Heredia, along with six regional offices throughout Costa Rica.

In 2020, ULatina formed a partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) to offer dual degrees and expand opportunities through online and on-campus programs in English. Historically, ULatina originated as Collegium Latinum under the Autonomous University of Central America (UACA) in 1979, becoming an independent institution in 1989. It was later acquired by Pro-Education Consortium in 2005 and Laureate International Universities in 2008.

Admissions require a high school diploma for undergraduates, with no entrance exam. The university offers degrees ranging from bachelor's to doctorate levels. Six programs are accredited by the National Accreditation System for Higher Education (SINAES), including Business Administration and Nursing, with plans to achieve full accreditation by 2021.

ULatina provides diverse academic offerings in fields such as Medicine, Engineering, Law, and Journalism. Its regional offices extend its reach across Costa Rica, ensuring broader access to education.
