Develi, historically known as Everek or Averak, is a municipality and district in Turkey's Kayseri Province, covering 1,892 km² with a population of 66,840 as of 2022. Archaeological findings indicate cultural traces from civilizations dating back to 2500-2000 BC, spanning the Copper Age, Bronze Age, and Seljuk Period. The town was part of Angora vilayet from 1867 to 1922. In 1914, its population was 49,128, comprising Muslims, Armenians, Greeks, Catholics, and Protestants.

The Fatih Mosque originated as a 200-year-old Armenian church converted in 1978. During 1998 renovations, original interiors were discovered, sparking debate between authorities on whether to cover religious symbols or restore them, potentially ending its use as a mosque. The mayor halted restoration work in 2004.

Develi comprises 78 neighborhoods. Its municipal logo features the Seyrani Monument, Dev Ali mausoleum, Mount Erciyes, and flamingos, distinct from other logos used by local institutions.
