Frown is a Slovakian gothic rock band formed in Prešov in 1997 by vocalist Marian Drac. The original lineup included guitarist Jan Kolesar, bassist Ján "Kafi" Kavulič, and keyboardist Zuzana Bérešová. The band released two demos, *Falsehood* (1997) and *Gift of Suffering* (1998), before their debut studio album, *Features and Causes of the Frozen Origin*, in 2001. Their second album, *Lunar Brightshine and Fiery Splendour*, followed in 2003, both influenced by Type O Negative and featuring tracks like "Dawning (For a Sweet Girl)" and "Rusty Flame."

In 2005, Frown released their third album, *Lovesinspain*, which shifted toward influences from The Sisters of Mercy, HIM, and The 69 Eyes. After a nine-year hiatus, the band returned with *Introspection of Memoirs* in 2014, revisiting elements from their earlier work. During this period, bassist Ján Kavulič left the band, and Marian Drac took over bass duties, dedicating it to Peter Steele, who died in 2010.

The current lineup includes Marian Drac (vocals, bass), Martin "Chemik" Porubsky (keyboards), and Peter Kertvel (drums). Past members include Jan Kolesar (guitar), Zuzana Bérešová (keyboards), Frantisek Zeleznik (drums), and Lubomir Dzvonik (guitar, 2015–2016). The band remains without a guitarist as of now.
