Trick Shot, also known as Buck Chisholm, is a supervillain introduced in Marvel Comics' *Solo Avengers #1* (December 1987), created by Tom DeFalco and Mark Bright. He played a significant role in redefining Hawkeye's origins, explaining how Clint Barton learned archery.

Trick Shot was part of the Carson Carnival of Travelling Wonders, where he performed as an archer under the name Trick Shot. A petty conman with a drinking problem, he was tricked into teaching young Clint Barton archery by Jacques Duquesne after attempting to expose Duquesne's thefts. Later, Trick Shot turned on Barton and became a mercenary villain.

Trick Shot has no superpowers but excels in archery, using a variety of trick arrows like smoke bombs and bola arrows. His health struggles, including recurring cancer, significantly impacted his story arc with Hawkeye. After challenging him to an "honorable duel," Hawkeye spared Trick Shot and even helped fund his medical treatment.

In later years, Trick Shot briefly retired from villainy but was lured back by the Secret Empire. Betrayed by Helmut Zemo during a scheme involving Clint's resurrected brother Barney Barton, Trick Shot was gravely injured and eventually died at Avengers Tower. Before his death, he warned Hawkeye about Barney's dangers, who later took up the Trick Shot mantle.

Trick Shot has appeared in media, notably as a member of the Circus of Crime in *Avengers Assemble*. His story is marked by themes of redemption and tragedy, with his health issues tying him to his complex relationship with Hawkeye.
