Whiteknights Park serves as the main campus of the University of Reading, spanning approximately 1.3 square kilometers (321 acres). It features natural landscapes such as lakes, meadows, and woodlands, alongside academic buildings, administration offices, and six halls of residence. The site has a rich history dating back to the 13th century, initially associated with John De Erleigh and later owned by notable figures including the Duke of Marlborough, who established grand gardens documented in literary works.

The university acquired the property in 1947, transforming it into its primary academic hub. The campus layout is bisected by a chain of lakes, separating areas for academic departments, catering services, and administrative buildings from service functions and more recent developments. Notable structures include the Edith Morley Building, often nicknamed "The Maze" due to its size and complex design.

Whiteknights Park straddles two local authorities: Reading and Wokingham. The campus houses a variety of academic departments, research centers, and student facilities, reflecting its evolution from historical origins into a modern educational institution.
