Bahodir Yoldoshev
Bahodir Tursunovich Yoldoshev was a prominent Uzbek and Soviet theater and film actor born on September 7, 1945, in Kattakurgan, Samarkand Region, Uzbek SSR, and passed away on May 16, 2021, at the age of 76. He hailed from a family deeply rooted in the arts; his parents were Shirin Melieva, a People's Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Tursun Yuldashev, an actor. Yoldoshev studied directing at the Tashkent Theater and Art Institute, graduating in 1970. He interned at the Bolshoi Drama Theater under Georgy Tovstonogov and began his career as a director at the Hamza Academic Theater in Uzbekistan in 1970. By the age of 28, he was appointed chief director of the theater. In 1983, he founded the Republican Satire Theater named after A. Kakhkhar and served as its artistic director. From 1984, Yoldoshev worked as the chief director of the "Yosh Gvardiya" Theater, later renamed the A. Khidoyatov Theater and then the Uzbek Dramatic Theater named after Abror Khidoyatov. He directed numerous plays, including "The Antics of Maysara," "Farmonbibi Got Offended," and others. Additionally, he was involved in directing productions for international music festivals like "Sharq Taronalari" and celebrated significant anniversaries of historical figures such as Mirzo Ulugbek and Tamerlane. Yoldoshev also established the theater studio "Diydor" in 2009, training future artists. His filmography includes roles in films like "Kogda ostanovilas melnitsa" (1971) and directing the comedy "Neputeviy muj."
