Ditaji Kambundji
Ditaji Kambundji is a Swiss sprint hurdler born on May 20, 2002, in Bern. She specializes in the 100 meters hurdles and has won bronze medals at the 2022 European Championships and the 2023 European Indoor Championships for the 60 meters hurdles. Kambundji is also the 2021 European under-20 champion and the 2023 European U23 champion in the 100 meters hurdles. She competed in the event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, held in 2021.
Kambundji holds Swiss indoor records in the 60 meters hurdles (7.81 seconds) and outdoor records in the 100 meters hurdles (12.47 seconds). She is a six-time national champion, winning three titles each in the 100 meters hurdles at the Swiss Athletics Championships (2020, 2021, 2023) and the 60 meters hurdles at the Swiss Indoor Athletics Championships (2021, 2022, 2023).
Born to a Congolese father and Swiss mother, Kambundji is the youngest of four siblings. Her older sister, Mujinga, is also a Swiss sprinter. Growing up, Ditaji attended her sisters' competitions, which inspired her to pursue athletics. She initially tried various disciplines before focusing on hurdles. Outside of sports, both sisters enjoy gardening and taking care of plants.
