Duncan T. Moore is a prominent figure in the field of optical engineering with significant academic, business, and government experience. He served as president of the Optical Society of America (OSA) in 1996 and was awarded the Robert E. Hopkins Leadership Award in 2001, the Edwin H. Land Medal in 2009, and became a Fellow member of OSA. Moore holds multiple professorships at the University of Rochester, including Rudolf and Hilda Kingslake Professor of Optical Engineering, professor of biomedical engineering, and professor of business administration, as well as serving as vice provost for entrepreneurship. From 2002 to 2004, he was president and CEO of Infotonics Technology Center Inc., a research and economic development organization in Upstate New York with substantial budgets.
