KUBE-TV
KUBE-TV (channel 57) is a television station licensed to Baytown, Texas, serving the Houston area. Owned by WRNN-TV Associates, its studios are located on Fountain View Drive and Burgoyne Road in southwest Houston, with a transmitter near Missouri City.
The station was founded as KLTJ in May 1988 under Eldred Thomas but moved to channel 22 in 1989 due to reception issues, becoming KRTW. It later changed to KVVV in 1994, focusing on home shopping with ValueVision, and then to FamilyNet as KAZH in 2000.
In 2002, KAZH affiliated with Azteca América for Spanish-language content but lost that affiliation in 2007. It joined TuVisión until Pappas Telecasting filed bankruptcy in 2008, leading to a sale to New World TV Group in 2009.
In 2010, it reverted to English programming as KUBE-TV with general entertainment. NRJ TV acquired it in 2013 for $19 million along with another station. Programming included shows like Seinfeld and sports events until 2019.
In 2019, WRNN-TV Associates purchased the station again. They transitioned to ShopHQ in 2021 after partnering with RNN and iMedia Brands, now focusing on Shop LC content.
Technical details include subchannels that have changed over time, currently featuring Cozi TV on 57.4. The station completed its digital transition in 2009, moving from UHF channel 57 to 41 for its digital signal.
