Lisa Marr is a versatile artist based in Los Angeles and Vancouver, known for her roles as a musician, songwriter, filmmaker, photographer, and educator. Born in Vernon, British Columbia, she has performed with various bands, including cub, Buck, The Beards, and The Lisa Marr Experiment. As Miss Marr, she releases solo work. She is recognized as the originator of cuddlecore, a music subgenre associated with her band cub.

Marr's music career began when she joined the Evaporators after teaching herself bass in just five days. She co-founded indie-pop band cub, where the term "cuddlecore" was coined to describe their sound. Despite mixed feelings about the label, it appeared on their album *Come Out Come Out*. The band also collaborated with artists like Neko Case and They Might Be Giants.

After cub disbanded, Marr formed Buck with drummer Lisa G and guitarist Pepper Berry. Her work extends beyond music; she is a filmmaker and photographer, holding a 2014 Visual Art Fellowship from the California Community Foundation. She works at Echo Park Film Center as operations director and youth film coordinator, directing projects like *Learning How to Fail*. Marr has exhibited her visual art in solo and group shows globally, including in Los Angeles, Berlin, Rotterdam, Hanoi, and India.

Her accolades include fellowships from institutions like the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and the National Institute of Design in Guwahati.
