The Thin Man is a Marvel Comics superhero created by Klaus Nordling and an unknown writer, first appearing in Mystic Comics #4 (August 1940). As one of the earliest "stretching" superheroes, he predates Plastic Man by a year and Elongated Man and Mister Fantastic by over twenty years. Bruce Dickson, a scientist and explorer, gains his powers after discovering the lost city of Kalahia in Tibet, where he is exposed to a mutagenic substance granting him eternal youth, resilience, and flexibility.

During World War II, Dickson joins the Liberty Legion as the Thin Man, battling Nazis and other villains. His costume was later changed from blue and red to green and yellow. After the war, he discovers his wife Olalla was killed by Nazis, leading him to hunt down Agent Axis, whom he ultimately kills, resulting in his arrest but later pardon.

The Thin Man's powers include stretching, deforming, and compressing his body, with a costume made of adaptive Kahalian fabric. He can become nearly two-dimensional, resist underwater pressure, and is immune to aging and diseases. A skilled fighter and pilot, trained by the Patriot and Miss America, he reappeared in Marvel Premiere #29 (1976) and later series like Invaders (1993) and The New Invaders (2004–2005).
