Young Marble Giants were a post-punk band formed in Cardiff in 1978 by Alison Statton and brothers Philip and Stuart Moxham. Known for their minimalist style, they released the studio album *Colossal Youth* (1980), which reached No. 3 on the UK Indie Chart, along with EPs *Final Day* (1980) and *Testcard E.P.* (1981). Their sound featured prominent bass lines, rhythm guitar, organ, and Statton's vocals, influenced by artists like Eno, Kraftwerk, Velvet Underground, and others. After disbanding, they reunited for various performances starting in 2007, including festivals like ATP, before their final show in London in August 2015. Their music has inspired numerous artists, including Kurt Cobain, Hole, and Belle and Sebastian, with covers of their songs like "Final Day" and "Credit in the Straight World."
