LeRon McClain
Le'Ron McClain is a former American professional football player who was a fullback in the NFL. Born on December 27, 1984, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he attended Tuscaloosa County High School and later played college football for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide under coach Mike Shula from 2003 to 2006.
McClain was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens with the 137th overall pick in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He signed with the Ravens on July 27, 2007, and scored his first career touchdown during his rookie season against the San Diego Chargers. In 2008, he became the team's primary running back, rushing for 902 yards and 10 touchdowns. His performance that season earned him a Pro Bowl selection.
During his final two seasons with the Ravens, McClain saw reduced playing time due to Willis McGahee and Ray Rice. He expressed frustration over limited touches, leading to his departure from the team. In 2011, he signed a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs after the Ravens acquired Vonta Leach. The following year, he joined the San Diego Chargers on a three-year contract but was released in March 2014.
McClain's cousin, Rolando McClain, is a former NFL linebacker. On November 5, 2014, Le'Ron McClain was arrested on felony charges related to synthetic marijuana trafficking.
