Puncha is a village located in the Purulia district of West Bengal, India. It falls within the Manbazar subdivision and Puncha CD block, which has its administrative headquarters at Puncha. The village is situated at coordinates 23°09′46.8″N 86°39′07.2″E and is part of the Chota Nagpur Plateau, characterized by undulating land with scattered hills.

Manbazar subdivision, where Puncha is located, is predominantly rural, with 96.32% of its population residing in rural areas. The subdivision includes three census towns and is known for its high proportion of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). Puncha CD block has 24.74% ST and 14.54% SC populations.

According to the 2011 Census, Puncha had a population of 5,404, with males comprising 51% and females 49%. The village has a literacy rate of 78.41% among those aged six years and older. The Puncha police station covers an area of 330.11 km² and serves a population of 123,768 across parts of Puncha and Manbazar I CD blocks.

Transport infrastructure in Puncha includes the intersection of Hura-Puncha Road and Puncha-Payrachali Road. Nearby, Pakbirra is notable for its Jain temples. The village also has a healthcare facility, Puncha Rural Hospital, with 30 beds.
