Hotaru no Hikari manga

"Hotaru no Hikari," a Japanese josei manga by Satoru Hiura, began serialization in *Kiss* magazine in 2004. The series was adapted into a television drama spanning two seasons (2007–2010) and a live-action film released on June 9, 2012. Kodansha USA licensed the manga for North America, while spin-offs such as *Hotaru no Hikari SP* (2014–2017) and *Hotaru no Hikari BABY* (2017–2021) were also produced.

The manga comprised 15 volumes, with its final chapter published in 2009. A bonus chapter titled "Himono to Buchō no Shinkonryokou" was released prior to the film's debut and included in the seventh volume. The television series featured Haruka Ayase as Hotaru Amemiya, alongside Ryoko Kuninaka, Kazuki Kato, and Naohito Fujiki. The film starred Haruka Ayase and Naohito Fujiki, along with Yasuko Matsuyuki, Yuya Tegoshi, Yuka Itaya, and Ken Yasuda.

The series has gained notable popularity, with the film grossing $22 million.
