Huh Young-ja

Huh Young-ja is a distinguished South Korean poet born on March 15, 1936, in Hamhung, North Korea. She pursued her education in Korean literature at Seoul National University and began her literary career in 1957 with her debut poetry collection, "봄날의 편지" ("Letters on a Spring Day"). Associated with the Modern Poetry Society, her work often explores themes of nature and human relationships.

Huh has authored numerous notable collections, including "점 하나" ("A Dot") in 1965, which earned the prestigious Yi Kwang-su Prize. She has been recognized with several awards, such as the National Literary Award in 1998 and the Heo Nanseolheon Poetry Prize in 2015.
