Julie Johnson is an American writer born on July 3, 1991, in Nahant, Massachusetts. She is known for her contemporary romance novels set near her hometown, including the *Witch City* series and the *Boston Love Stories* series. Johnson earned a BA with honors from the University of Delaware in 2013, majoring in Mass Communications and Psychology. Her first novel, *Like Gravity*, was published in December 2013.

Johnson has written over 20 novels, which have been translated into multiple languages and published in at least ten foreign territories. One of her books, *Diamond Empire*, charted on the Der Spiegel bestseller list in Germany. In January 2024, she announced a new romantic fantasy trilogy through a three-book deal acquired by fifteen international publishers, including Penguin Random House, Harper Italia, and Ullstein. The first book in the trilogy, *The Wind Weaver*, was revealed with its official cover art on July 9, 2024.

In an interview, Johnson cited Welsh mythology and Stevie Nicks's song *"Rhiannon"* as inspirations for her new series. Her selected novels include *Like Gravity* (2013), *Say the Word* (2014), *Foreign Affairs* (2014), *So Wrong It’s Right* (2018), and *The Wind Weaver* (2025).
