Matthew Ward singer

Matthew Ward is a notable figure in Christian music, best known as a member of the vocal group 2nd Chapter of Acts. Born into a musical family, he faced early tragedy when his parents were killed in an automobile accident. Along with his sisters Annie Herring and Nellie (Ward) Greisen, he formed The 2nd Chapter of Acts, which became influential in contemporary Christian music. Their early success included recording demos for Pat Boone and appearing on *The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson*. Ward also pursued a solo career, releasing several albums.

Ward has collaborated with numerous artists, contributing vocals, keyboards, and production to projects by LeAnn Rimes, Dennis Jernigan, Ron Kenoly, Michael Card, and others. His discography includes solo works like *Arms of Love* (1980) and *A New Point of View* (1992), as well as appearances on compilations such as Maranatha! Music's *Hosanna: 15 Songs Of Freedom*.

In addition to music, Ward has co-authored a book with his sister Annie Herring titled *The Acts of the Apostles*. He survived a life-threatening bout of bacterial meningitis in 1985 and later became a Certified Nurse’s Aide. Ward continues to contribute to Christian music through collaborations and worship projects.
