Not Tonight video game

"Not Tonight" is a role-playing game developed by PanicBarn, released for Windows in August 2018 and on Nintendo Switch as "Not Tonight: Take Back Control Edition" on January 31, 2020. Set in an alternate timeline following Brexit, the game centers around a stateless European citizen working as a bouncer to avoid deportation under an authoritarian UK government.

The gameplay involves managing venue security, verifying IDs, enforcing rules, and making decisions that affect social credit. Players can choose to support the government or resistance movements, with their choices influencing the story's outcome. A loss of social credit leads to deportation, ending the game. The protagonist, referred to as "#112," navigates a dystopian UK where citizenship is stripped from those with EU heritage.

A downloadable content (DLC) titled "Not Tonight: One Love" was released in June 2019 and later bundled into the Switch edition. A sequel, "Not Tonight 2," was released on Windows in February 2022 and on Switch in March 2024, shifting the setting to a dystopian US facing crises.

The game received mixed reviews initially but was better received on Switch. Reviews often compared it to "Papers, Please," noting its unique approach despite some flaws.
