Paul Freeman musician

Paul Freeman is a Welsh singer and musician born in South Wales. He discovered his first guitar at age 12, finding it atop a dumpster, and received a new one along with a chord book from his parents the following Christmas. By age 14, he wrote his first song, "Some Day," and claims to be self-taught as a musician. During high school, Freeman worked at Linford Manor recording studio, where he taught himself to play piano, inspired by access to a grand piano. Freeman began his career in London as a guitar player for James Blunt before moving to Santa Monica, California, after being inspired by John Steinbeck's *East of Eden*. Six months later, he released an EP. His music caught the attention of Michael King, founder of King World Productions, who invited him to perform at a benefit concert. This led to Clive Davis signing Freeman to Arista Records after a bidding war. Freeman often devises song titles before writing the lyrics and cites Bruce Springsteen and the Beatles as influences. He has toured with Roger Daltrey on the "Tommy Reborn" tour and is known for interacting with audiences during performances.
