Pierrick Berteloot

Pierrick Berteloot, born on January 11, 1999, in Dunkirk, is a French politician representing the National Rally party. He was elected as a deputy for Nord's 15th constituency in the National Assembly during the 2022 legislative elections, defeating Emilie Ducourant of NUPES in the second round.

Berteloot comes from a family with a notable historical background; his great-grandfather, Louis Maniez, was a French resistance fighter executed by Nazi forces in 1944. A bridge in Bourbourg is named in Maniez's honor.

After completing secondary school, Berteloot pursued a career at sea, working for DFDS and attending the L'Ecole Maritime de Boulogne in Boulogne-sur-Mer. He later worked on ferries connecting France and England but eventually returned to his maritime studies before transitioning into politics.

His political journey began in 2020 when he was elected as a municipal councilor in Bourbourg, where he oversaw military and patriotic ceremonies. In 2021, he became a regional councilor in Hauts-de-France under Sébastien Chenu's leadership.

Berteloot is openly gay and has shared that experiencing homophobic bullying influenced his decision to enter politics. While he aligns with the National Rally's stance on immigration, he also aims to advocate for LGBT causes. In parliament, he serves on the defense committee, focusing on issues such as supporting local farmers and combating illegal immigration. Damien Top acts as his parliamentary attaché.
