Sailen Manna

Sailen Manna was a prominent Indian footballer born in 1928 in Chittagong, East Bengal (now Bangladesh). He played as an inside forward and joined Mohun Bagan in Kolkata, where he became a key player for over two decades. Manna won the IFF Cup twice with Mohun Bagan in 1957 and 1960. He captained the team to India's first Asian Games gold medal in 1962, marking a significant achievement in his career. Additionally, he represented India at the 1956 and 1960 Olympics. After retiring as a player, Manna remained associated with Mohun Bagan, contributing as a coach and mentor to younger athletes. He passed away in 2015 at the age of 87, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and impact on Indian football through his long association with the club.
