Vidyadhar Oke

Vidyadhar Oke is a distinguished polymath known for his contributions across multiple fields. As a versatile artist-scholar, he excels in musicology, where he's renowned for his work with 22 shrutis in Indian classical compositions, blending tradition with contemporary elements. He's also a celebrated playwright and dramatist, with notable works like 'Sangeet Tajmahal' earning him Best Drama, Playwright, and Music Director awards at the Maharashtra State level.

Beyond his creative endeavors, Oke is a respected astrologer with expertise in Hindu, Chinese (I-Ching), and Western astrology. He's authored numerous books on these subjects, including treatises on the Chinese zodiac, and has been a columnist and radio host. His writings also explore reincarnation, offering insights into the lives of prominent Indians.

Oke's accolades include the Pancharatna Puraskar and the Keshavrao Bhosale Award from the Government of Maharashtra. Married to Kathak dancer Bhagyashree, they have three sons—two of whom follow in his artistic footsteps—and a daughter-in-law who is an actress and singer.
