SuperStar Search Slovakia season 1
SuperStar Search Slovakia, known locally as *Slovensko hľadá SuperStar*, was a television talent show based on the British format *Pop Idol*. It aired in late 2004 and early 2005 on STV, with its first episode premiering on October 29, 2004, and concluding on April 15, 2005. The show featured four judges: singers Ladislav Lučenič and Pavol Habera, music producer Lenka Slaná, and radio personality Július Viršík. Lučenič served as the head judge.
The program included regional auditions held in Bratislava, Košice, Banská Bystrica, and Žilina during the summer of 2004. The best 100 singers advanced to the *Divadlo* stage, where they performed solo and group numbers. From these, 50 contestants moved forward to the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals, the 50 contestants were divided into groups of 10, with two from each group advancing based on viewer votes. The top 11 finalists competed in several themed rounds, including duets, rock editions, and swing performances. The final single recorded by the top six contestants was *“Teraz je ten správny čas”*, composed by judge Pavol Habera.
Notably, Peter Konček, a contestant from season one, passed away in 2012 following a car accident. Some participants, like Richard Vida and Marián Fatrsík, went on to appear in later seasons of the show.
The accompanying *SuperStar Search Slovakia Magazine*, hosted by Adela Banášová, Martin Rausch (aka Pyco), and Branislav Ciberej, provided additional coverage of the contestants and behind-the-scenes content.
