Larry Owens is an American comedian, actor, writer, and singer known for his work in theater, television, and music. Born and raised in East Baltimore, Maryland, he was inspired by Stephen Sondheim's work and attended performing arts camps, including Stagedoor Manor. He trained in acting and improvisation at the School at Steppenwolf, where he studied under notable instructors like Tarell Alvin McCraney.

Owens moved to New York City in 2015 to pursue a professional career in performance arts. He volunteered at the Musical Theatre Factory, where he met playwright Michael R. Jackson, who later wrote *A Strange Loop*. In 2019, Owens received critical acclaim for his leading role in *A Strange Loop*, earning him a Lucille Lortel Award and a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical. He also starred in the solo show *Sondheimia* in July 2021.
