Renmin University of China School of Business
The Renmin Business School (RBS), located in Beijing and affiliated with Renmin University of China, is a leading public business school established in 1950. It is recognized as one of the top 50 global business schools by the Financial Times. The school traces its origins to the Department of Factory Management, Trade, Bookkeeping, and Financial Credit.
RBS has 139 full-time faculty members, including 47 professors and 52 associate professors. Approximately 20% of these faculty have received overseas doctoral training. Many are senior consultants or independent directors for major Chinese companies. The school has prioritized internationalization by expanding its global programs.
In recent years, RBS was ranked first in Business administration by the Ministry of Education. It is among a few schools in China with three nationally designated key research disciplines: general management, industrial economics, and accounting. In 2008, RBS faculty secured 19 national research grants.
The school collaborates internationally with over 80 universities worldwide, including Yale School of Management as part of the Global Network for Advanced Management. It also participates in student and academic exchanges globally.
RBS launched its International MBA (IMBA) program in 2009. The program requires 47 credits, a practice report, and a thesis. Core courses are taught in English, with some electives offered bilingually or in English for international students. Graduates receive an MBA degree from Renmin University of China.
