Joel Glazer
Joel Glazer, born on March 31, 1967, is an American businessman and sports team owner. He is part of the Glazer family, which controls First Allied Corporation, HRG Group, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL, and Manchester United in the Premier League. The family resides in Florida. Glazer grew up in Rochester, New York, and earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from American University in Washington, D.C. In 1995, he and his father, Malcolm Glazer, acquired the Tampa Bay Buccaneers franchise. He later played a key role in securing local approval for Raymond James Stadium and led the team to its first Super Bowl victory in 2003 against the Oakland Raiders. The Buccaneers won another Super Bowl in 2021, becoming the first team to host a Super Bowl at their home stadium. As co-chairman of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Glazer represents the franchise at NFL meetings and serves on several league committees, including the International Committee, Finance, Media, and Legalized Sports Betting committees. He also co-chairs Manchester United, which has won multiple Premier League titles, Champions League, and other competitions during his tenure. However, the Glazer family faced backlash from fans for alleged mismanagement at Manchester United and for withdrawing over £1 billion in dividends.
