The Hyundai HB20 is a subcompact car produced by Hyundai Motor Company since 2012 in Brazil, specifically designed for the Brazilian market. Initially available with flex-fuel engines, it was not exported until 2016 when it began selling in Paraguay and Uruguay, later expanding to Mexico and Colombia in 2022. The name "HB20" combines "Hyundai Brasil" ("HB") and "20," reflecting its segment classification similar to the Hyundai i20. The first generation (launched in 2012) featured two engine options: a 1.0L and a 1.6L Gamma producing 128 hp. The 1.6L version came with both automatic and manual transmissions, while the 1.0L was only available with a manual transmission. In 2013, over 75% of its parts were locally sourced in Brazil. The HB20S is the sedan variant, sharing the same engine and transmission options as the hatchback but with a longer body (4.23 m) and larger trunk capacity (450 L). The HB20X, introduced later, is a mini-SUV produced exclusively in Brazil, featuring a raised suspension and mixed-use tires, available only with the 1.6L Gamma engine. A concept car, the HB20 R-Spec Concept, was showcased at the 2014 São Paulo Motor Show.
