Elfie Donnelly is a British-Austrian author born on January 14, 1950, in London. Her notable works include the series *Bibi Blocksberg* and *Benjamin Blümchen*. She spent her early childhood in Rugby before moving to Vienna, where she began her career in journalism at the APA news agency. In 1973, she moved to Berlin, married Peter Lustig, and started writing children's audio dramas, winning a German youth literature prize with her first book.

Donnelly gained fame for her series *Benjamin Blümchen* (65 episodes) and *Bibi Blocksberg* (40 episodes), which have sold over 54 million copies. She also created the series *Elea Eluanda*, featuring a disabled girl and her companions. For adults, she wrote detective novels and a travel guide about Mallorca.

Donnelly has written scripts for films like *Bibi Blocksberg* (2002) and its sequels, as well as other family-oriented movies. She currently resides in Ibiza with her husband, author Paul Arató, and they are developing new multimedia projects for children. Her sons live in Austria and America.
