La'Keshia Frett is a former collegiate and professional basketball player born on June 12, 1975, in Carmel, California. She attended Phoebus High School in Hampton, Virginia, where she was named a High School All-American by the WBCA and participated in the 1993 WBCA High School All-America Game, scoring six points. Frett was also named the 1993 Gatorade Female Basketball Player of the Year and a Parade All-American in 1992 and 1993.

She played college basketball for the University of Georgia from 1993 to 1997, averaging 15.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. Frett was a three-time All-SEC first team selection and the 1993-94 SEC Freshman of the Year. She scored 242 points in 15 NCAA tournament games, ranking third all-time at UGA, and was named to the Final Four All-Tournament team in 1996.

Frett competed with USA Basketball, winning gold at the 1994 Jones Cup in Taipei and silver at the 1995 World University Games in Japan. She also won gold at the 1997 World University Games in Italy, averaging 10.2 points per game.

After college, Frett played professionally for the Philadelphia Rage (ABL) from 1997 to 1999. In the WNBA, she played for the Los Angeles Sparks (1999-2000), Sacramento Monarchs (2001-2004), Charlotte Sting (2004), and New York Liberty (2004-2005). She retired from the WNBA in 2006 to coach at the University of Georgia. Frett later became an assistant coach for Auburn University’s women’s basketball team and joined the Atlanta Dream as an assistant coach in 2021.
