Molly Weir (17 March 1910 – 28 November 2004) was a Scottish actress known for playing Hazel the McWitch in the BBC TV series *Rentaghost*. Born in Glasgow and raised in Springburn, she began her career in amateur dramatics before becoming a well-known radio actress, appearing in comedy shows like *ITMA*. Her stage success included the play *The Happiest Days of Your Life*, and she made her film debut in 1949. She had a notable role as Aggie McDonald in the sitcom *Life With The Lyons*.

In the 1970s and early 1980s, Weir became famous as a writer with best-selling memoirs such as *Shoes Were For Sunday*. She also appeared in television advertisements for Flash and acted alongside Dame Maggie Smith in *The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie*, playing one of the schoolmistresses. During the 1970s, she presented *Teatime Tales* on STV, sharing childhood memories, and later lampooned her homely image in the comedy series *Victoria Wood As Seen On TV*. She also appeared in a pop video for The Bluebells' hit "Young At Heart."

In 1979, Weir supported the Conservative Party at an election rally. She was the subject of the song "Molly's Lips" by The Vaselines and its cover by Nirvana. After her death, her ashes were scattered on the banks of Loch Lomond, and nearly all of her estate (£1.9 million) was left to charities.
