RuPauls Drag Race Holi-slay Spectacular

RuPaul's Drag Race Holi-slay Spectacular was a holiday television special that aired on VH1 on December 7, 2018. The hour-long special featured former contestants from RuPaul's Drag Race competing to become the "Drag Race Christmas Queen." Contestants included Eureka O'Hara, Jasmine Masters, Kim Chi, Latrice Royale, Mayhem Miller, Shangela, Sonique, and Trixie Mattel.

The queens participated in challenges involving lip-syncing to holiday music from RuPaul's albums Slay Belles (2015) and Christmas Party (2018), choreographed by Todrick Hall. In the mini-challenge, Mayhem Miller won after dancing with a pit crew member to "Christmas Cookies." The main challenge required the queens to lip-sync to RuPaul's song "Get to You" in 1980s-inspired costumes. They competed in pairs, and while all were declared winners by RuPaul, Michelle Visage and RuPaul later performed a lip-sync battle to "Christmas Party," with the judging panel declaring a double save.

The program received mixed reviews. While some criticized it as a promotional tool for RuPaul's Christmas album, others praised its charm and festive spirit. Notably, Eureka O'Hara and Sonique went on to compete in later seasons of Drag Race All Stars, with Sonique winning first place in the sixth season.
